Enhancing financial and insurance literacy is one of ABZ’s key strategic priorities. Developing educational programs and delivering training sessions are among the main ways in which ABZ addresses the topic of insurance literacy.
ABZ offers two tailored educational programs, led by representatives of the association. Both programs are designed to be flexible and can be adapted to the goals, needs, and timeframe of specific training sessions. They are particularly suitable for young audiences, including school pupils and university students.
This program provides a broad introduction to the world of insurance. Topics include:
the origins and history of insurance;
the nature, principles, and key concepts of insurance;
types of insurance and their specific features;
consumer issues related to choosing and purchasing insurance products;
an overview of the Bulgarian insurance market—its participants, current trends, and role within the European market.
This program focuses on the consumer perspective and practical aspects of insurance. Topics include:
the meaning and purpose of insurance and basic concepts;
how to assess individual insurance needs;
types of insurance products available on the Bulgarian market and their specifics;
consumer issues related to selecting, purchasing, and using insurance products;
the role of market participants and institutions, as well as consumer protection mechanisms.
