ABZ is a co-founder of the initiative “Together for Children’s Road Safety: Central and Eastern Europe.” Launched in 2021, it brings together insurance associations, road safety organizations, government bodies, and educational institutions from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Every year, the organizers implement a variety of activities dedicated to the most vulnerable road users—children. The goal is to encourage them to follow safety rules, to learn how to recognize and avoid risks on the road, and to raise awareness that each of us has an important role to play in protecting children’s lives and well-being.
The Association of Bulgarian Insurers is an active participant in the initiative. ABZ works in partnership with the Guarantee Fund and the General Directorate National Police of the Ministry of Interior.

Among the most engaging activities carried out within the initiative are the prize games based on the children’s road safety quiz “No Mistakes on the Road”.
These games enjoy strong public interest and attract wide participation:
One particularly successful initiative in 2024 was the children’s drawing competition under the motto “No Mistakes on the Road.” The contest gave children from across the country the opportunity to become “co-authors” of ABZ’s educational road safety quiz of the same name. In their drawings, they illustrated correct and incorrect behaviors in traffic situations.
The response was remarkable: nearly 10,000 drawings were submitted by more than 4,300 pupils from over 900 schools and kindergartens in 304 towns and cities across Bulgaria. All children received participation certificates via a specially created section on the ABZ website, where the unique gallery “No Mistakes on the Road” showcases all submitted works.
