GROUPAMA INSURANCE: FIRST AID TRAINING FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN SOFIA AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY UNDER THE “LIFE SAVERS” PROGRAM

Groupama is the only insurance company that provides free first aid training for external audiences at its own expense, while also actively promoting the importance of having more people prepared to react properly in case of an emergency.

The “Life Savers” program has been implemented since 2022, and since November 2024 it has been expanded to include first aid training for students and teachers.

The project aims to build a more supportive and better-prepared society when it comes to providing first aid to accident victims. Its benefits extend to society as a whole, while specific training has been delivered to:

  • Students
  • Teachers
  • Employees
  • Clients
  • Partners

Beyond the training itself, the project raises awareness about the importance of being prepared to deliver timely and adequate first aid. Its main goal is to fill a social gap – the insufficient preparedness in society to help those in need during emergencies.

Activities

As part of the 2024/2025 edition of the “Life Savers” program, Groupama expanded its training and awareness activities by focusing on students and teachers. This expansion into schools is particularly important to create solid foundations and responsible behavior from an early age, since until now schools had not been included in first aid training.

At the same time, Groupama engaged local authorities, informing them about the benefits of the program and involving them in the school training sessions.

In parallel, the project continued to target clients, partners, families, and the general public, raising awareness about the importance of better first aid preparedness.

The initiative’s activities are multi-layered, complementary, and include:

  • Training for students and teachers
  • Preparation of educational materials
  • Training for partners and clients
  • Participation in family festivals, offering short first aid workshops for thousands of children and parents
  • Communication campaigns, publications, and videos highlighting the importance of first aid preparedness
  • Engagement of local authorities to support and promote the initiative

Results

The project’s results are measured not only by the number of people trained but also by the social and moral benefits for society. Notably, there has already been a case where a person trained by Groupama was able to provide timely and adequate first aid to an accident victim.

Results in figures:

  • 1,300 students trained in 6 Bulgarian cities, with trainings planned in 5 more cities by the end of 2025, reaching up to 600 additional students and teachers
  • 4,500 children and families trained through quick first aid workshops at family festivals
  • Over 300 employees trained
  • Over 200 clients and partners trained
  • Educational videos and training materials created and shared with the general public via company channels and during events
  • Participation and engagement of local authorities during school training sessions
  • Media publications about the project and the benefits of having more people prepared to help in emergencies
