On 10 July 2024, the regular annual General Assembly of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) was held. The members of the Association approved the 2023 activity and financial reports, as well as the main strategic priorities, annual work programme, and budget for 2025.
The General Assembly also confirmed a change in representation of Generali Insurance AD in the Management Board of ABZ. This change follows a formal resignation submitted by Mr. Yuri Kopach, who stepped down from his executive functions at Generali Insurance AD. His position within the ABZ Management Board, including the role of Chair, will be assumed by Mr. Nikolay Stanchev, CEO of Generali Insurance AD, for the remainder of the current mandate.
In his farewell remarks, Mr. Yuri Kopach expressed heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues and fellow members of ABZ for their active engagement and cooperation, stating:
“I deeply appreciate your support and the joint efforts we made within the ABZ Management Board to strengthen the Association’s reputation as a solid industry organization and to reveal the true essence of Bulgarian insurance – humanity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”
He voiced his confidence that Mr. Nikolay Stanchev would build upon what has been achieved so far and help unlock the full potential of the insurance sector through continued collective efforts.
In his address, Mr. Nikolay Stanchev emphasized that he is taking on the chairmanship with deep commitment to ABZ’s shared objectives and with a strong sense of responsibility toward its members:
“I am confident that together we will continue to implement and defend policies aimed at the sustainable development of our industry and the wellbeing of society.”
