In a lively meeting with prospective students, representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) introduced the exciting career development opportunities offered by the insurance sector. The event was part of the Open Day at the Higher School of Insurance and Finance (VUZF).
The young participants met with Yuri Kopach, Chair of ABZ, Veselin Angelov, member of the ABZ Management Board, and Nina Kolchakova, Secretary General of ABZ. They shared their professional experience and introduced the world of insurance—a dynamic and diverse field, built on sustainable values.
Yuri Kopach, Chair of ABZ, addressed the prospective students with the words: “I believe that beyond the purely informative benefits of today’s meeting, we will manage to inspire and motivate you to study insurance and to work in the field in the future. Because it is a sector that unites humanity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”
He noted that education and career development in the insurance industry align well with the priorities of young people. Insurance offers much more than standard benefits like stability and competitive remuneration. It is a profession with a mission—one that makes a meaningful contribution to society and helps address global challenges. A career in insurance offers broad opportunities for acquiring new skills and professional growth, as well as diversity and dynamism. Yuri Kopach also touched upon the historical development of insurance in Bulgaria, emphasizing: “It is truly important to look ahead—to the future and the opportunities offered by the insurance industry. But it is equally important to know the path that the industry has taken in Bulgaria. That is how we can appreciate the sustainable values that have remained unchanged despite the course of historical change.”
In the discussion that followed, Nina Kolchakova and Veselin Angelov elaborated on various aspects of the topic, including the essence of insurance and its role in ensuring the stable functioning of the economy and households, the development and potential of the Bulgarian insurance market, as well as the future outlook for the sector and its professionals.
