For yet another year, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) is taking part in the ROADPOL Safety Days campaign under the motto “Stay alive and save lives”. The campaign runs from 16 to 22 September and is organized under the auspices of ROADPOL – the European Roads Policing Network. In 2024, 18 September is designated as the European Day Without a Road Death, aiming to promote the core message of reducing the number of fatalities resulting from serious road traffic accidents across Europe and in Bulgaria.
The ROADPOL Safety Days campaign traditionally coincides with the European Mobility Week (16–22 September). Since the launch of the campaign in 2016, the Safety Days in Bulgaria have been held under the patronage of the Minister of the Interior, with the General Directorate “National Police” acting as the national coordinator.
Road Safety as a Priority for ABZ
Road safety remains a strategic priority for ABZ, especially considering Bulgaria’s long-standing position among the EU countries with the highest number of road fatalities per capita. Through its participation in the ROADPOL Safety Days and the “Stay alive and save lives” campaign, ABZ seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of responsible behavior on the road. The association aims to remind the public of well-known safety rules that save lives and protect futures.
