On 27 July 2023, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) and the Bulgarian Leasing Association (BLA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding. The document was signed by Mr. Yuri Kopach, Chair of the ABZ Management Board, and Mr. Atanas Botev and Mr. Vladislav Damaskinov, Co-Chairs of the BLA Management Board.
“The memorandum lays the foundation for even more active cooperation between our two associations and creates a stable framework for pursuing our shared goals in areas of mutual interest. Of particular importance is the enhanced capacity for coordination when addressing regulatory matters relevant to both sectors,” stated Yuri Kopach. He also emphasized that the sector’s contemporary challenges require an innovative and comprehensive approach, and the memorandum represents a step in that direction.
On the occasion of the signing, Mr. Atanas Botev and Mr. Vladislav Damaskinov highlighted that “active collaboration between the two associations will undoubtedly contribute to more effective dialogue with legislators and regulators—delivering clear benefits for the economy and society.”
The cooperation between ABZ and BLA will focus on issues related to the harmonized EU regulatory framework and national legislation that affect both sectors. In this regard, and in the interest of society and shared priorities, the two organizations will be able to develop joint positions, coordinate their individual stances on significant matters, and contribute to the development of a high-quality business environment.
