On 17 May 2023, the regular electoral Annual General Meeting of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABI) was held, during which a new composition and Chairperson of the ABI Management Board were elected.
The new Chairperson is Yuri Kopach, CEO of Generali Insurance AD, who succeeds Konstantin Velev, CEO of Armeec Insurance JSC, after two consecutive terms. Until now, Mr. Kopach served as Deputy Chair of the ABI Management Board.
“I accept this position fully aware of the great responsibility that my colleagues from the Management Board and I undertake before our members. Over the years, the Association has become the unifying platform through which strategic priorities, common policies, and even the reputation of the sector are shaped. It is our responsibility to build upon and expand what has been achieved so that, through joint efforts, we can contribute to unlocking the potential of the insurance sector,” stated Yuri Kopach.

Konstantin Velev congratulated the new Chairperson of the Management Board with the words: “There could be no more suitable choice for ABI Chairperson than Yuri Kopach—not only because of his high professionalism and years of experience, but also due to his genuine commitment to the sector’s common goals and the work of the Association.”
