ABZ Participated in the "Road Safety Days" Initiative of the European Road Policing Network ROADPOL

For yet another year, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) joined the Road Safety Days initiative under the motto “Stay alive and save lives.” The campaign takes place between 16 and 22 September under the auspices of the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL). This year, 20 September was designated as the European Day Without a Road Death, aiming to promote the core message of reducing fatalities caused by serious road traffic accidents across Europe and in Bulgaria.

The activities of ROADPOL’s traditional campaign are aligned with the events marking the European Mobility Week, also held from 16 to 22 September. Continuing the tradition since the launch of the campaign in 2016, Bulgaria’s Road Safety Days 2023 are held under the patronage of the Minister of the Interior, with the General Directorate “National Police” acting as national coordinator.

Road safety is one of the leading priorities of ABZ, especially considering the fact that Bulgaria has consistently ranked among the EU countries with the highest number of road fatalities per capita. Through its participation in the Road Safety Days and the “Stay alive and save lives” campaign, ABZ aims to draw public attention to the importance of responsible road behaviour, and to remind people of well-known rules that save lives and prevent tragedies.

From 16 to 22 September, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers, in partnership with the Guarantee Fund, is running a digital road safety campaign. Informational materials on the most dangerous traffic situations and how responsible driving behaviour can prevent them are being published on ABZ’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages. As part of the campaign, information will also be provided on the types of insurance that can help manage the consequences of road incidents.
