On 17 May 2023, the prestigious annual awards in the insurance and pension insurance sector – "Insurer of the Year", "Pension Insurance Company of the Year", and "Insurance Broker of the Year" – were presented for the 15th consecutive year at a formal ceremony held at the Marinela Hotel in Sofia. The event was organized by the Higher School of Insurance and Finance (VUZF), the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ), the Bulgarian Association of Supplementary Pension Security Companies (BASPSC), the Prof. Dr. Veleslav Gavriyski Foundation, and the Bulgarian Association of Insurance Brokers (BAIB).
The Prof. Dr. V. Gavriyski Foundation also presented its special annual awards for the 25th time for "Lifetime Contribution to the Development of Bulgarian Insurance", "Lifetime Contribution to the Development of Bulgarian Social Security", and "Lifetime Contribution to the Development of Insurance Mediation" to distinguished experts, managers, and leaders in their fields.
The event, now an established tradition, brought together representatives of the business community, state institutions, regulatory authorities, academia, and the media.
Among the official guests this year were: Mr. Rosen Zhelyazkov, Chair of the National Assembly; Mr. Lazar Lazarov, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policies and Minister of Labour and Social Policy; Mr. Boyko Atanasov, Chair of the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC); Ms. Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva, Chair of the National Audit Office; Ms. Zornitsa Rusinova, Chair of the Economic and Social Council; Mr. Ivaylo Ivanov, Governor of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI); FSC Deputy Chairs Mr. Vladimir Savov and Ms. Diana Yordanova; Mr. Toshko Todorov, Deputy Chair of the National Audit Office; Mr. Vasil Velev, Chair of the Board of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association; Mr. Stanislav Popdonchev, Deputy Chair of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Todor Tabakov, Deputy Chair of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and others.
The best-performing companies in the insurance and pension insurance sector for 2022 were honored during the ceremony. The winners were selected by an expert jury composed of representatives from the five organizing institutions, based on objective public criteria and indicators.

The laureates received specially crafted statuettes of the goddess of victory Nike, honorary certificates, and commemorative pins bearing the image of the foundation’s patron.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo of all award recipients, presenters, officials, and members of the Organizing Committee.
