On 21 May, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) took part in the meeting of the Group of Insurance Associations from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE Group) held in Sopot, Poland. The meeting was hosted by the Polish Insurance Association (PIU) as part of the 11th Annual PIU Congress.
The PIU Congress is a key platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and community building among stakeholders in the insurance sector. It brings together senior executives from insurance companies, national and EU regulators, representatives of the European Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, academic institutions, and Insurance Europe.
This year’s congress was held in the context of a significant milestone — the 20th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union — and focused on the evolving role of the insurance industry within the EU framework.
The agenda also included presentations and discussions on current EU legislative initiatives, the future of artificial intelligence, and innovation in insurance. Participants explored the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, as well as strategies for sustainable development and digital transformation.
