ABZ General Assembly Admits New Members and Elects New Management Board – Nikolay Stanchev Appointed as Chair
On 29 May 2025, the regular Annual General Assembly of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) took place. The members approved the 2024 activity and financial reports of the Association, as well as the key priorities, the annual work programme, and the 2026 budget.
The General Assembly elected a new Management Board. Nikolay Stanchev, Chair of the Management Board and CEO of Generali Insurance AD, was elected as Chair of ABZ’s Management Board for a new mandate.
The newly elected Management Board includes:
- Generali Insurance AD, represented by Nikolay Stanchev, Chair of the Management Board and CEO.
- Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group, represented by Plamen Shinov, Management Board Member and Executive Director.
- Allianz Bulgaria Life AD, represented by Veselin Angelov, Management Board Member and CEO of Allianz Bulgaria Insurance JSC.
- Euroins Insurance Group, represented by Irena Lalova, Member of the Board of Directors of Euroins Insurance JSC.
- UNIQA Life Insurance AD, represented by Ivana Dimova, Management Board Member and CEO of UNIQA Insurance JSC and UNIQA Life Insurance AD.
- Groupama Insurance EAD, represented by Selin Bolar, Chair of the Management Board and CEO of Groupama Insurance EAD and Groupama Life Insurance EAD.
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rumen Erusalimov, Dean of the Faculty of Finance, D.A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov.
By decision of the General Assembly, four new insurance companies were admitted as ABZ members:
- AXIOM Insurance AD
- FENIX Insurance EAD
- FI Health Insurance AD
- Barents Insurance EAD
