The professional holiday “Day of the Insurer”, celebrated on 1 October, was marked in a festive setting by representatives of the insurance industry, state institutions and regulatory bodies, academia, and the media.
Yuri Kopach, Chair of the Management Board of ABZ, welcomed the guests and the entire insurance community with the following words:
"Our professional holiday brings us together to reflect on what we have achieved – and also to look ahead. It is a pleasure and an honour for me to celebrate our day together. I emphasize 'together' because alongside our successes, the challenges we've overcome and those still ahead, we are also building something else – something equally important – our community. A community not only united by profession, but by shared values – a community of like-minded people working together and therefore able to bring positive change to the sector, the business environment, and society."
"Insurance is a profession that, by its very nature, brings hope, trust, and security. Hope that the good moments in life will prevail, trust that no matter the circumstances, someone will be there to help. We live in a dynamic world, facing numerous challenges – social, economic, and climatic. A world in which people, businesses, and our society increasingly need hope and trust, security and protection. This is why our mission to provide that protection is becoming even more socially significant. We are all witnessing the severe consequences of insufficient insurance coverage in the wake of increasingly frequent natural disasters. As a sector, we recognise that much work lies ahead. We also understand that in order to achieve even better results, it is essential to rely on the understanding, support, and partnership of many other stakeholders – state institutions, the regulator, business, academia, the media, and others. I believe that through joint efforts, dedication, and professionalism, we can provide the protection our society so greatly needs."
Dr. Nikolay Zdravkov, Chair of BAZB, and Boyko Atanasov, Chair of the FSC, also addressed the professional audience with congratulatory messages.
