As the summer travel season begins and road traffic increases, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) has joined the European road safety campaign “Safety Begins with Sobriety”, coordinated by Insurance Europe.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs—one of the leading causes of serious road traffic accidents. Alcohol and drugs impair a driver's judgement, concentration and reaction time, significantly increasing the risk of crashes.
The campaign's message is clear: if you are driving, do not consume alcohol or drugs. Road safety is a shared responsibility.
Through this initiative, Insurance Europe, together with national insurance associations and road safety organisations from across Europe, is joining forces to promote prevention and encourage safer behaviour on the roads, particularly during the busy summer travel period.
By taking part in the campaign, ABZ reaffirms its long-standing commitment to improving road safety and supporting initiatives that encourage responsible behaviour among all road users.
