The Ministry of Finance (MF) has launched an online financial literacy portal that brings together educational and informational resources to support more informed financial decision-making.
The platform offers practical guidance and tools, available in both Bulgarian and English, and is structured into two main sections – “Life Events” and “I Want to Learn About”. It also includes videos, quizzes, basic calculators, an educational game, as well as sections with frequently asked questions and a glossary of terms.
Insurance is consistently integrated into the portal’s content – both as part of key life decisions and through dedicated explanatory materials and tools. In this context, the platform has the potential to support a better understanding of insurance products, risk management, and the role of insurance as a tool for financial protection.
The portal is open to further development through additional content from institutions and organizations participating in the Interinstitutional Working Group on Financial Literacy at the Ministry of Finance, including the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ).
Against the backdrop of increasing complexity in financial products and services, as well as emerging risks, including in the digital environment, such initiatives are of key importance for building a sustainable financial culture and promoting informed consumer behaviour.
