For yet another year, the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) is participating in the ROADPOL Safety Days initiative under the motto “Stay Safe and Be a Role Model!”. The campaign runs from 16 to 22 September 2025 under the auspices of the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL).
This year’s focus is on vulnerable road users – children, pedestrians, and riders of two-wheeled vehicles, including electric scooters. The day of 18 September has been designated as the “Day Without a Road Death”, aiming to raise public awareness of the importance of reducing the number of fatalities resulting from serious road traffic accidents in Europe and Bulgaria.
The ROADPOL campaign coincides with the European Mobility Week, observed from 16 to 22 September. In Bulgaria, the “Safety Days” are held under the patronage of the Minister of the Interior, with the General Directorate of the National Police acting as national coordinator.
Road safety is a long-standing strategic priority for ABZ – especially in view of the fact that Bulgaria continues to rank among the EU countries with the highest road fatality rates per capita. By participating in the ROADPOL Safety Days and in the national campaign “Stay Alive! Protect Life!”, ABZ aims to draw attention to the importance of responsible road behaviour and to remind citizens of the simple, well-known rules that save lives and protect families.
As part of this year’s edition, ABZ will run a digital information campaign dedicated to the new legal requirements for operating electric scooters – a particularly relevant topic for young people and urban commuters.
