Chairman of ABZ Nikolay Stanchev Presented Diplomas to Master’s Graduates of UNWE

At an official ceremony diplomas were awarded to graduates of the Master’s programmes in “Insurance and Social Affairs” and “Human Resources Economics” at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

Guests at the ceremony included Assoc. Prof. Dr Maria Vodenicharova, Vice-Rector for Research Activities; Prof. Dr Georgi Petrunov, Dean of the General Economics Faculty; Nikolay Stanchev, Chair of the Management Board of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers and Chief Executive Officer of Generali Insurance, an alumnus of the Department of Human Resources and Social Protection. The Department was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr Todor Todorov, Head of the Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr Galina Dimitrova, Deputy Head of the Department; Prof. Dr Miroslava Peycheva; and Chief Assistant Prof. Dr Maria Mancheva. The ceremony was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr Galina Dimitrova, Deputy Head of the Department of Human Resources and Social Protection, after which the anthems of Bulgaria and Europe, as well as the student anthem, were traditionally performed.

In his welcoming address, the Chairman of ABZ Nikolay Stanchev wished the graduates a successful professional realisation, emphasising that “many exciting years” lie ahead of them, as the world and business are developing at a rapid pace under the influence of technology and artificial intelligence. “Now more than ever, business needs fresh ideas and creativity,” he said. Nikolay Stanchev gave several pieces of advice to the graduates—to manage their careers wisely, to accumulate experience and knowledge in various fields, and to make efforts, because “they always pay off”. He quoted the words of Roger Federer about luck—that it is important, but that “the more he trains, the more luck he has”. He advised them to set high goals, to challenge themselves, to reach the limits of their capabilities, which are “almost unlimited”, to work with pleasure, and to learn from their mistakes. Nikolay Stanchev presented diplomas to the top graduates of the class from the “Insurance and Social Affairs” programme—Debora DobrevaIvana Raykova, and Kasiyana Stancheva.

After the presentation of the diplomas, Rumyana Boyadzhieva, a student from the Master’s group in “Insurance and Social Affairs”, greeted those present with a magnificent performance of the song “One Bulgarian Rose”, which deeply moved everyone in attendance. The ceremony concluded with the traditional throwing of caps by the graduating Master’s students.
