The Chair of the Management Board of ABZ, Nikolay Stanchev, who is also Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Generali Insurance AD, took part in a series of meetings with students from the “Insurance and Social Security” and “Human Resource Economics” programmes. The events were organised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Dimitrova, Deputy Head of the Department of Human Resources and Social Protection.
Nikolay Stanchev shared with the students insights into the challenges and difficult decisions that must be made on the path to major career achievements. He spoke about his professional experience and the various positions he has held, as well as the opportunities to gain extensive practical experience at both national and international level. The students showed strong interest in the topics presented, asked additional questions, and the meeting evolved into an open discussion.
Stanchev advised the young audience to make the most of their time: “To be competitive, you need both solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which you can acquire through participation in practical training and internship programmes. A successful professional career requires continuous learning, gaining hands-on experience, and being prepared for the challenges ahead.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Dimitrova thanked the guest for the fruitful cooperation, personal commitment, support and participation in joint initiatives, which are highly beneficial for students.
A week prior to the meeting, students from the “Insurance and Social Security” programme visited the office of Generali Insurance AD, where an off-site practical training session was held. The aim was to provide those studying the course “Personal Insurance” with the opportunity to gain insight into the company’s health insurance operations.
