The educational initiative is held annually by the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC), in partnership with the Atanas Burov Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Science. The 2025 edition of the program “The Non-Banking Financial Sector in Bulgaria” took place from 23 to 26 June 2025, with the participation of 16 students from specialized high schools across the country.
The Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) hosted the insurance panel on 24 June. Nina Kolchakova, Secretary General of ABZ, met with the students and introduced them to the essence of insurance, its origins and historical development, the functions of the insurance market, the different types of insurance and key products, as well as current market trends. The students took particular interest in discussing real-life case studies from insurance practice and demonstrated solid knowledge while solving ABZ’s online quiz “Your Insurance IQ.”
ABZ traditionally participates in the FSC’s educational program as part of its broader policy of promoting financial and insurance literacy. In this way, the association contributes to building informed and responsible future consumers and professionals in the sector.
