The Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria (IDES) signed on January 22, 2026, a memorandum of cooperation establishing the foundation for a long-term partnership and closer coordination on key issues of mutual professional interest.
The document was signed by Nikolay Stanchev, Chairman of the Management Board of ABZ, and Iliya Iliev, Chairman of IDES. Attending the signing ceremony on behalf of IDES were Kalin Kanev and Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, while the ABZ delegation was represented by Nina Kolchakova, Secretary General of the Association.
The memorandum provides for cooperation in areas of key importance to both professional communities—accounting and audit, financial reporting, insurance regulation, risk management, and ESG. The partnership will be implemented through the exchange of expertise and information, joint initiatives and professional events, participation in trainings and analyses, as well as through coordination in the preparation of opinions on legislative initiatives at both national and European levels.
ABZ and IDES will also cooperate through the active participation of their representatives as lecturers and experts in events and trainings, as well as through the exchange of publications, analyses, and information on significant processes and activities within their respective professional fields.
